Grotesque Minimalist Horror Story Makes Chicago Debut. This one-woman show makes its Chicago premiere at Bump in the Night Theatre. May 5st, 2025 CHICAGO, IL This June, Bump in the Night Theatre Company will produce its third production– Aaron Mark’s Squeamish. Featuring a powerhouse performance by Lauren Miller, this thriller creates skin-crawling tension with nothing more than an actor, a story, and a chair. Sharon, an Upper West Side Shrink, longtime recovering alcoholic, and world class hemophobe, finds herself in the South Plains of Texas, and off her psychotropic drugs, after her nephew’s sudden death. Her new friendship with Cara, her nephew’s girlfriend, leads her down an obsessive, unpredictable, and destructive path. SQUEAMISH is a grotesque tale of phobia and compulsion. A minimalist work of psychological horror about craving what terrifies us most. Squeamish is written by Aaron Mark, directed by Garrett Michael McCann and stars Lauren Miller. Taylor Mercado Owen serves as stage manager. Bump in the Night Theatre is a horror theatre company dedicated to the mysterious, magical, and macabre. BITN began hosting events in 2023.
